Are you interested in joining our team as Global Athlete’s Program Manager?

Global Athlete is a new international athlete-led movement whose aim is to inspire and lead positive change in world sport, and collectively address the current imbalance of power between athletes and sporting leaders. We aim to help athletes gain a more represented voice in world sport. 

Formed in February 2019, we are an organization established by Athletes for Athletes. We want to:

  • Create positive change in world sport.

  • Secure a better balance of power between athletes and sporting leaders.

  • Secure a more meaningful and representative athlete voice for all decisions in sport.

The Location

As a truly modern movement, Global Athlete has adopted a decentralized approach whereby the selected candidate can work remotely, in their own country.

The Position 

This is a Fulltime position. Global Athlete is looking for a self-motivated, purpose-driven, hard working individual that wants to contribute to changing the sport landscape for the better through enhanced athlete engagement. The core function of the position includes:

  • Helping grow Global Athlete following its impactful and widely-noticed launch this year.

  • Writing and editing official correspondence and public statements. 

  • Updating website contents with Global Athlete’s web provider.

  • Developing content, managing and updating social media sites (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn).

  • Work with the Global Athlete Start-Up Group and team on strategic planning and positioning. 

  • Develop and maintain relationship with athletes and athlete groups.

  • Building relationships with media

  • Liaising with suppliers and other stakeholders (e.g. web provider, etc).

  • Develop event briefs and manage event logistics, where required.

Profile/Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work within a team context as well as independently, and with proven ability to do so.

  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and proven record of working within an international context.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong computer skills including website and social media management.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with international sport.

  • Strong knowledge of the international sporting landscape.

  • Ability to travel internationally from time to time, as required.

  • A positive attitude.
